About Casa Cardoza

The idea behind Casa Cardoza was a true family effort. Chef Zachary Basto wanted to create something that would make his abuelos, Romeo and Maria Cardoza proud.  They were the ones who inspired his passion for food so any concept for a business was always going to start with "What would the Cardoza's think?".  He also wanted to listen to his mom, Nancy, and wife, Natalie, and make food that is approachable and comforting.  Both these women have always challenged him to think about how he could make anyone and everyone smile with a meal.  Thus, Casa Cardoza was born!

Empanadas are delicious, warming pastries that come in so many different shapes, styles, flavors and sizes.  Ours are mostly done the way southern South American countries make them; think Argentina, Uruguay or Chile.  Our flakey, wheat based dough gets filled with a variety of fillings - all savory at the moment - then baked to golden brown perfection.  Each empanada is still hand made by Zachary, his brother Rockford and our newest team member, Bre Mitchell.

Currently we work with seven different local cafes and markets who carry our products and represent different neighborhoods in the Atlanta area.  We also offer delivery or pick-up on a limited basis!

This summer we will be participating at the Decatur and Morningside Farmers Markets. Those are Wednesday 4-7pm and Saturday 8-11:30am, respectively.
